The SPL Elector is a high-quality preamp for use in hi-fi scenarios. The unit is an all-analog take on the Director Mk2, giving you the same VOLTAiR technology and internal circuit topography. Use the Elector with your tape machines, casette recorders, and CD players.
With 3 pairs of RCA and XLR jacks, you can make use of either balanced or unbalanced connections. Connect power amplifiers to the XLR jacks, or use a headphone amplifier with the RCA direct outputs. Additionally, the Elector has a Tape Monitor send and return loop. These use to be a mainstay of the '70s and '80s, but are not usually found on current designs. Using this insert path, you can put your favorite equalizers or outboard processors into the signal to tune the sound for the room. A level calibration switch near the Tape Monitor section allows you to compensate for the levels of consumer gear.
The front of the unit offers a six-way input selector switch, a promient aluminum volume knob, and a pair of VU meters for monitoring the sound. You can calibrate the VU meters for either 6 or 12 dB of headroom.
