Ecoute Audio

 

Ecoute Audio began research, development and production of its unique vacuum tube headphones beginning with early prototypes in 2019. The project was launched by Morpho MFG, a company with prior experience in contract manufacturing for other crowdfunding projects. The headphones were first introduced to the public through Kickstarter campaigns in 2022 and 2023 and aim to recreate the warm, analogue sound of classic tube-driven hi-fi systems in a portable, wireless headphone. The final production model, TH1, was showcased at events in 2025.

 

Kendall Liddle is the creative director and product designer for écoute audio and has more than 20 years of experience in working from product development concepts into a brand. Ecoute audio was also co-founded by its CEO Joshua Fairbairn, a Canadian product development expert based in Guangzhou, China, and the CEO of MorphoMFG, a design, development, and contract manufacturing company with an already extensive history in consumer electronics. The two founders both lived in Montréal, Québec, when they met, which explains the name (écoute meaning “listen” in French).
