Parasound

 

Parasound was founded in San Francisco, California in 1981 by Richard Schram. Parasound is a premier American audio manufacturer renowned for high-end, reliable, and high-value amplifiers and preamplifiers. Known for the HALO line and collaborations with legendary designer John Curl since 1989, the company specializes in producing audio gear for home, studio, and cinema, including renowned partners like Lucasfilm and Pixar. 

Parasound products are actively used in the production of films. Thus, this is the only company in the world awarded the honour of being in the credits of all three episodes of the legendary Star Wars epic. The reference quality of Parasound equipment was appreciated by George Lucas and was chosen for the equipment of Lucasfilm and Skywalker Sound studios. Another cult director, Ridley Scott, the author of such films as “Alien,” “Blade Runner,” “G.I. Jane” and, of course, “Gladiator,” also agrees with him. The process of creating Pixar cartoons, including the super popular “Toy Story”, “Finding Nemo”, “Monsters Inc.”, “Cars”, is not complete without Parasound audio video equipment. 


About Parasound

Most Parasound developments are based on the ideas and circuit design of John Curl, one of the world’s most respected high-end audio engineers. In the early 1970s, creating the legendary Mark Levinson Audio Systems JC-2 preamplifier. The first standalone product to incorporate Curl’s complementary differential-input circuit. Followed by the ML-2 Class A power amplifier. He went on to work with many other luminaries of the high-end audio scene, including Dave Wilson and Jeff Rowland. Curl also designed and manufactured the Iconic Vendetta Research Phono Stage.

Throughout its 40+ year history, Parasound has maintained a reputation for providing "high-end for all of us," catering to audiophiles and professionals needing reliable, top-tier audio performance.
