The new EverSolo DMP-A8 Gen 2 is a premium network music streamer, DAC, and fully balanced analog preamplifier designed for audiophiles seeking exceptional sound quality and seamless digital music playback. The new DMP-A8 Gen 2 features the flagship AKM DAC architecture, the DMP-A8 Gen 2 supports PCM up to 32-bit/768kHz and native DSD512 playback, delivering remarkable detail, dynamic range, and musical accuracy. Its fully balanced analog preamplifier with precision R-2R volume control preserves signal integrity for clean, transparent performance when paired with a power amplifier or active speakers.

The new DMP-A8 Gen 2 include support for TIDAL, Qobuz, Amazon Music, Apple Music, Spotify Connect, or your own digital collection. The DMP-A8 Gen 2 provides effortless playback over Gigabit Ethernet or Wi-Fi 6. A wide selection of digital and analog connections, including HDMI ARC, USB Audio, IIS, balanced XLR, RCA, optical, and coaxial. Noteworthy Audio

This Laiv preamplifier (HP2A) is a perfect match for my system that also includes Laiv Harmony DAC and Laiv uDDC re-clocker. My active speakers (pair of Buchardt A1 and SUB 10)are driven directly by HP2A preamp, XLR output. The sound is perfectly coherent, detailed without any hints of digital harshness from the DAC side. It is very slightly warm sounding but not slow or too dark. The physical construction is superb and leaves impression of a long term reliability. I do not use headphone preamp outputs in my configuration. Overall - this is a reasonably priced high quality unit that delivers on a promise on detailed but not clinical sound regardless of the connected source (analog or digital balanced inputs). Highly recommended especially when matched with other Laiv components.

The least “electronic “ sounding moving coil I have used. Not as extending in the high frequencies or as detailed as the Lyra Kleos, but very natural sounding in the midrange. Low frequencies have a nice bloom, imaging is very good.
