I bought the product in black
It has a sleek look and is easy to use
I've been using a laptop to Denefrips Hermes DDC via USB to a Bryston BDA3 via AES input for many years. I know the laptop is 'noisy' (and I took a lot of comments for using it as opposed to a NAS and streamer) but it served me well.
The laptop is old, slow, and out of memory, and it's not worth upgrading. Rather than just buying a new one, I started looking at streamers again. The term steamer is somewhat misleading as they are really a computer optimized for music playback. One of my requirements, however was that it had to have onboard storage - don't want a NAS.
I picked up an Eversolo T8, not expecting a major sound improvement, but as a precursor to eventually replacing the DAC and solving my storage and control needs.
The things I noticed:
-improved clarity
-more bass weight
-more fuller sound
These weren't night/day improvements, but an overall refinement and showed me how good the Bryston DAC was when you provide it with a really good source signal. I tried various connections between the Eversolo and the Bryston and found the USB and the AES were so close I couldn't tell the difference. I settled on the USB connection as I can still use the Denefrips DDC for my DVD player and TV (Movies sound marvelous). I think I can get a few more years out of the Bryston! The phone APP for the Eversolo works great but I'll never use many of the features.
I am happy with the headphones and also the overall service received by Noteworthy Audio. The shipment was delayed but they kept me informed on the progress of the order. I would recommend buying from Noteworthy Audio.
It has taken me a lot of listening to the Meze Elite Tungsten to know what to write about their sound, and that is precisely because they contribute so little of their own sound to the music. The music just appears in a huge space all around you. This large sound stage especially happened with the angled Alcantera pads provided. The detail is phenomenal but completely natural and realistic at the same time. So no listening fatigue and they are very light and comfortable. I also know the realism they provide is dependent on the quality of the recording and equipment ahead in the chain.
Best Dac Ive heard for the price! Highly recommended
This R2R DAC adds warmth and musicality. It may not be the cleanest or most detail-retrieving DAC available today, but the tone and presentation are more alive than the typical Delta-Sigma DACs in this price range.
Great retailer. Knowledgeable with excellent products and after-market support.
This is a tremendous transport. It is as good as my old PSA, which I didn't think would ever be equaled. (For the record I have owned a Sony, Arcam, and Bryston players, and a PSA transport.)
You MUST level the player. Our building had shifted and I had not realized quite how much. At first the player rejected some CDs but once leveled it plays everything I own.
I have exactly one possible suggestions for the manufacturer/designer: move the repeat button on the remote further away from the play/pause button. I occasionally bump the repeat button and I realize I'm listening to the album again, after three or four tracks.
Also back to my less-than-level floor, maybe offer leveling legs on the deck? That may be too hard to implement.
If you listen to CDs, this is a transport that you should try.
BTW I bought mine from Noteworthy Audio in King, ON. It was a frictionless transaction, and Nick offered support for the first couple of days when my less than level deck was rejecting some discs. Great retailer.
Bought the HEDDphone D1, overall perfect experience communicating with Nick and ordering online, very fast email responses and 1 day shipping to my door.
Efficient
Definitive improvement in sound clarity, soundtage, details and instruments separation.
Excellent service, fast shipping and responding, highlyrecommended .
Well-built, excellent sound; very happy with the combination of the EXA100 and CNX100.
Hands down the best high end audio shop in Canada. Nick is one of the most knowledgeable, resourceful, and honest dealers I know. 10/10 experience every time!
I live on the other side of the country but service from Noteworthy is as good as if they were local. Ran into a small issue with the order but Nick went above and beyond to make it right. You just can’t find another business operating with such high integrity and honesty nowadays. The Z10 DAC is a wonderful device but what made the purchase extra special is Noteworthy Audio. I am a customer for life!
