The new Final D8000 DC Headphones feature a new SOTA planar magnetic model driver with AFDS (Air Film Damping System).

With the development of the new AFDS (Air Film Damping System), Final have achieved sound quality that has both the sensitive high ranges of planar magnetic models and the volume and open feel bass tones of dynamic models. This is a product that will have you making new discoveries from music you're used to listening to, and will have you wanting to listen to your favourite music over and over, reaffirming the pleasure that audio products bring.

The D8000 Pro Edition has been developed in response to requests from recording professionals who want to listen to the sound at a louder volume than general consumers, while retaining the delicate sound quality of the "D8000." This is a new product that has been retuned to suit the usage conditions. As a result of new tuning that takes into consideration the human auditory characteristic, in which low frequencies become easier to hear as the listening volume increases, the D8000, which was good at listening to classical music with a wide dynamic range, has been improved. D8000 Pro Edition' has a sound quality that gives a sense of higher resolution when listening to music with a narrow dynamic range such as 'POPS' or 'rock'.

The housing is made of aluminum-magnesium alloy and is designed for long-term use, making repairs and future upgrades easy. The newly developed ear pads are made with Toray's Ultrasuede for the part that comes in contact with the skin, with an emphasis on softness and durability, and two types of cables are used: OFC cable 3.5mm/1.5m and OFC silver coated cable 6.3mm/3m. The least “electronic “ sounding moving coil I have used. Not as extending in the high frequencies or as detailed as the Lyra Kleos, but very natural sounding in the midrange. Low frequencies have a nice bloom, imaging is very good.

The device was delivered in a perfect condition with extra care. I just tried the Valkyrie with some of my IEMs. Its sound characteristic is similar to PCM 1795DAC but a little warmer. Still, it does not lose any details. Amp is not only powerful to drive my receivers smoothly, but also capable of delivering dynamics of songs with handling volume differences over all frequency ranges. Overall, great service and great device.

This thing is amazing. Nice sound stage, good details but not fatiguing and very neutral in its presentation. Presently pairing it with the Aegis headphone amplifier (tube) & Senn headphones and this combo is super solid with the Z10.
