Description

Heed Audio's Lambda is a preamplifier for the analogue-blooded fans. In a standalone mode, it is a very robust and capable device with its sturdy internal power supply. There is, however, an option to upgrade this remarkable performance to an even more astonishing level. The Thesis π external power supply adds more clarity, more accuracy and a great bunch of smoothness to the presentation. You can choose between five of your analogue sources and adjust the volume with an RC handset, but that is all you can get from the digital world by this clean-cut preamp. On the analogue side, however, it is the most refined preamplifier ever built by Heed. The amplifier circuit is the pure version of the Thesis α’s analogue section. With the lack of digital circuitry, there is no reason to compromise anything. Aiming for the best possible sound quality, the Thesis λ offers an unexceptional PCB design, unique to our Thesis line preamplifiers.

Specifications:

Inputs: 5x analogue
Outputs: 1x preamplifier output / 1x tape out
Power supply options: internal / Thesis Pi
Max. consumption: 60 W
Dimensions (WxHxD): 22 x 8.5 x 36 cm

Purchased it with both c201 and r202 DAC cards. I won’t go into a lengthy description as that sort of review is readily available online.

I own 4 other DAPS (along with 4 tube headphone amp set ups and 4 desktop solid state headphone amp set ups). And 18 headphones. In each case I have had to use an equalizer to fit my old hearing. Well, using the Cayin c201 and r202 this was the first time I did not have to equalize. So right out of the box the sound was detailed, holographic and just the right balance between bass, vocals and high notes. This was with the Meze 109 Pro. Then I tried the very difficult ATI-AP2000Ti and without equalizing is still sounded like listening out of a tin can, but, with equalization, it came into its own and sounded great, using the r202 card.

Anyway, highly recommend purchase of you have a headphone collection and are serious about tuning the setup to get the best out of your investment.

Communication with Nick was amazing since first moment. He informed me about device delivery time promptly and clearly. After the device arrived, I visited Nick personally and he showed me his showroom and we spend some time talking about various aspects of hi-fi audio. Nick is very knowledgeable with years of experience in the field, so with my any future needs in hi-fi or Hi-end audio I will definitely contact him again.

Astell&Kern SP4000T blows my mind every time I listen to Hi-res files from my archive, especially in tube amp mode that I prefer. The sound quality is phenomenal. I never expected a digital music can sound so great. Paired with Thieaudio Prestige LTD earphones and in tube pentode mode music sounds the best I ever heard. The DAP is not cheap, but definitely worth every penny. Game changer.

I’m extremely impressed with the Cayin HA-300B Mk3. It has a powerful, refined presentation with excellent dynamics, pairs beautifully with all my headphones, and is remarkably quiet. I can comfortably say this is the first tube amp I’ve owned where I didn’t feel the immediate urge to start tube rolling!

Nick was excellent on my order. I placed an order then changed it while he ascertained availability and timeframe for shipping. He shipped it to me asap once he received it. Nick is customer focused, an increasingly rarity in today’s world. Highly recommended.

Amazing headphones, you did it again Noble! Also, dealing with Nick from Noteworthy Audio https://www.noteworthyaudio.com/ was like icing on the cake 🍰

Just picked up the Cayin iHA-8 from Nick at Noteworthy Audio, and this one really surprised me.
I’m running the iHA-8 with my HIFIMAN HE6 Remastered, and I already had the SPL Phonitor XE, so I honestly wasn’t expecting the iHA-8 to make much of a difference. After spending some time A/B’ing them, though, I ended up preferring the iHA-8 with the HE6 Remastered. It has the power, control and dynamics to really wake up the HE6, and in my system it actually beats the SPL XE.
What impressed me just as much was the buying experience. This is my third purchase from Nick at Noteworthy Audio, and once again everything was absolutely smooth. I’m in Vancouver, and the shipping was ridiculously fast "overnight on Saturday". Honestly, it arrived faster than some things I’ve ordered from Amazon. 😂
And I wouldn’t limit that recommendation to Canadian customers. If you’re anywhere that Noteworthy Audio can ship to, I’d definitely consider giving Nick a shot. Great gear, great service, and incredibly fast shipping.
Overall: 5/5 from me. The Cayin iHA-8 is an excellent match for the HE6 Remastered, and Nick at Noteworthy Audio has once again delivered a first-class buying experience. Three purchases in, and I’ll definitely be back for the next piece of audio gear. Highly recommended, whether you’re in Canada or ordering internationally.
