Martin Logan MP500 V2 Multi Purpose Bridgeable Amplifier

Description

The new Martin Logan MP500 V2 is a two-channel, Multi-Purpose, DSP amplifier with up to 500 watts of power on tap. In two-channel mode it outputs 130w x 2 @ 8 ohms or 250w x 2 @ 4 ohms and when in bridged mode it can output up to 500w x 1 @ 8 ohms. While MP500 V2 can be used to power nearly any speaker, the selectable onboard DSP presets focus on optimizing performance for use with MartinLogan outdoor speakers and subwoofers, and select MartinLogan Custom Installation speakers and subwoofers. As the perfect match for these products, MP500 V2 is configurable as either a two-channel Stereo, dual Mono, or one-channel bridged Mono amplifier that can even power dual MartinLogan In-Wall subwoofers. The included rack mount ears and connector bracket allow for up to two amplifiers in a 1U rack space, providing up to four high power channels in a single rack space. With 500 watts of available power, flexible inputs, minimal footprint, and selectable DSP presets, MP500 V2 is a powerful and versatile solution that doesn’t take up a lot of space. 

As new supported products are released, MP500 V2’s DSP can be easily updated through the USB C port on the front of the amplifier using a PC by following the “Firmware Updates” link above. 

Using multiple subwoofers, especially in a Home Theater, has many benefits. Multiple subs provide more even bass across the room, making sure that every seat gets an incredible performance. In addition to this, by spreading the bass across multiple subs, there are more woofers handling the bass workload. By sharing bass across multiple subwoofers, distortion (and potential stress on the components) is lowered, resulting in cleaner, more effortless sound.

To that end, MP500 V2 has onboard DSP presets optimized for both single and dual MartinLogan subwoofer configurations, meaning you can run up to two MartinLogan Custom Installation subwoofers per MP500 V2.

The MP500 V2 features a robust, yet quiet, active cooling system in order to keep things under control even under extreme playback. With no user intervention required, the cooling fan will engage as needed to help keep the air flowing across the MP500 V2’s heatsinks, keeping the fun going. Maximum output, minimal noise.
