During acoustic design research, Hifiman found that any rear grille structure causes acoustic interference to the diaphragm of the driver unit. Hifiman's 'Unveiled' design literally means to remove the grille (veil, cover, etc.) from the rear of the headphone driver. Designing the Unveiled system to work without a grille allows for a purer, cleaner sound with less distortion.
The Ananda Unveiled driver features the 2025 innovations, NEO Supernano Diaphragm Gen 2 + Enhanced Magnets. The diaphragm is 60% of the thickness of previous Ananda, allowing us to better control its movement and achieve improved responsiveness. Enhanced Magnets provide improved performance from magnets free of rare earth materials, contributing to the amazing capabilities of the Ananda Unveiled.
Ananda Unveiled features a new improved build and style, with a similar appearance to the upmarket Arya and HE1000 models, as well as our new headband design, 'Gen 2'. The new band is 20g lighter weight than previous versions, with sleeker appearance, super soft head strap for all day comfort and built in rotation through the arms, allowing the headphone to achieve a perfect fit for a huge range of head sizes and shapes.
